How to apply for student allowances

All members of the BCGS can apply for travel grants to cover part or all of the cost to attend summer schools, perform research abroad, or even study at another university. Note that all MSc and PhD students in Bonn and Cologne are BCGS members.

Successful applications contain a detailed financial plan and document the funding sources you can draw on beyond the BCGS. For research projects and conferences at advanced stages of a PhD project we expect a substantial contribution from the students' research groups. For semesters abroad we can only cover part of the costs. Contact the BCGS offices early in order to discuss the specifics of your plans.
